Ajaygarh Fort
Ajaygarh Fort is 80 km from Khajuraho, situated at a height of 688m. We find this fact that, this fort remained the capital of Chandelas during the mysterious times before their sovereignty ended.
Kalinjar Fort
Kalinjar Fort is 100 km from Khajuraho, positioned on the Vindhya ranges. This historical fort has a glorious history and is as old as the Gupta period and got succeed over the Chandela ruler Shri Yashovarman in the 10th century.
Temples of Khajuraho
Khajuraho, as called the temple city, has found this stage due to his temples with its marvelous history, culture and glory of its own. One can realize the explicit erotic sculptures in the temples. But now Only 22 temples have survived out of the original 85 temples. Many local persons also believe in the theory that, these erotic sculptures forms to be the visual representation of Kamasutra, art of sex or the relations between Shiva and Parvati, the divine couple.
Rajgarh Palace
Rajgarh Place is located 25 km from Khajuraho, positioned at the foot of Maniyagarh hills, built by King Shatrujit Bundela, gives a enchanted look of the Bundela style of architecture. It is converted now in a heritage hotel and its museum located within the palace has a fabulous collection of various geological & cultural artifacts.
Dhubela Museum
Dhubela Museum is 57 km from Khajuraho, positioned in an old fort on the way to Jhansi. It has a unique collection of Bundelkhandi artifacts and a myriad of sculptures of Shakti cult. It also has several other sections such as those on clothes, armory and paintings.
Raneh falls
Raneh falls is 25 km from Khajurao and famous for the lovely and colored rock formations on the River Ken. A traveler found numerous seasonal waterfalls in the close by forested area, which make it a perfect picnic spot.
Ken Gharial Sanctuary
Ken Gharial Sanctuary is 24 km far apart from Khajuraho. You can realize the beauty of wild animals specially famous for its crocodile view. So it is the best place to see the crocodiles with long-snouts living in their natural dwelling. However, and it is guided to keep the distance.
