Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is at an altitude of 1,336 m above sea level. It is said that Kathmandu has been founded by King Gun Kamdev in AD 723. It is situated in the beautiful valley of Himalaya. The skillfully created temples and palaces, delicately engraved stone and metal images, carved wooden columns and pillars, and the history laden shrines and chaityas of this historical cities stand testimony to the Newars's artistic achievements. The Kirats are the first documented ruler of the Kathmandu valley. Kathmandu is a hub for independent travelers as well as a growing vacation spot catering to all budgets. Nepal is a country with a long historical tradition and an amalgamation of a number of medieval principalities.

How to Approach there
Air : Well connected by international Airprt in Kathmandu. This is the only international airport in the Kathmandu.
By Road : Kathmandu has well and cheap bus service to nearly all parts of Nepal. Connections include India and other parts of Nepal are there.
Places to Visit
Kathmandu City :
Kathmandu, known as Kantipur and the Capital of the kingdom of Nepal, is perfectly situated in the valley of Himalaya. The beauty can be explored here visiting the temple of the Living Goddess, who acknowledges the greetings of devotees from the balcony of her temple residence. The architecture and culture of the Nepal can be visualized here in the temples, monuments and in the living peoples.
Dubar Square
In the heart of Kathmandu, the ancient square crowded with palaces and temples, including the current incarnation of the Kasthamandap or "Wooden house" that gives the city its name. and this square has been in active use since the construction of a palace around 1000 AD. This site is the most popular UNESCO World Heritage Site in Nepal. It can be an exhausted experience to take the trip of this ancient square.
Swayambhunath
Swayambhunath, the great views over the city, is 25 minutes of walking distance from Thamal. It is also called the Monkey Temple because of the surroundings of the monkeys around the Swayambhunath. This Buddhist stupa is considered to be 2000 years old. The stupa is composed of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth supporting a lofty conical spire capped by a pinnacle of copper guilt. It is painted on the four sided base on the spire and are the all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha.
Thamel Chowk
Thamel Chowk is the shopping paradise for the visitors coming to Nepal. There are various restaurants and shops for having the look of nepalies food and shopping from there. There are also some restaurants that give you the look of Indian foods.
Pashupatinath
Pashupatinath, an holiest Hindu Temple, is in the form of Lord of animal and dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated amidst a lush and green natural setting on the bank of the holy Bagmati River. T he temple is constructed in Pagoda style and has gilded roof and richly carved silver door. The temple is only permitted to Hindus and strictly prohibited to non Hindus.
